Performance monitoring ​

We like to have a fast performant site not only for great SEO and UX but also this is something the frontend team cares a lot about!

Services ​

Our current main service is GTmetrix, where we have automated monitoring + alerts (i.e., performance budget).

Chrome dev tools ​

For regular upkeep we depend on lighthouse which is available in chrome devtools.

Lighthouse has many useful features, but we mostly rely on the performance tabs for both mobile and desktop views. The process of running lighthouse is simple:

  1. Go to dev tools.
  2. Click perform audit, select relevant categories.
  3. Click run audit.
  4. Analyze your results.

We always try to remain above 90 for mobile for all pages and near to 100 for desktop scores. We also care deeply about core web vitals and always optimize for it.

PageSpeed Insights ​

PageSpeed insights is also a useful tool as it gets your core web vital scores for actual users that have been your site. Because of which it represents even more useful data.
