Membership Reactivation
Reactivation is a process when a member re-activates their membership after it has been canceled (a transaction from cancelled to active lifecycle state).
When a visitor tries to login with an email address that belongs to a canceled member, he/she will be greeted with a screen saying something like "Welcome back - would you like to re-activate your membership?".
Even if he has entered the wrong password, we still show this screen to him. If he clicks yes, the renewal flow starts, and he can pay to get his membership renewed. If he entered the wrong password, we remember it for later in the renewal flow (see below).
In this case, the visitor (i.e. the previous Member) does NOT get logged in as a Member, so we do not need to care about Membership access. Once he has paid with a credit card, he will then be logged in.
When this Visitor (i.e. previous Member) has completed the renewal flow with a successful payment, then:
- the Membership is re-activated and the person is now (again) a full Member
- The Member gets logged in.
- If the Member used the wrong password (remember: we made a note of that, earlier in the renewal flow), the Member is asked to renew his/her password.
Then Member will be redirected to the main page.
Security notice: If the Visitor gets out of this renewal flow (for example, by clicking on the logo, or opens a link in current «tab/window», or clicks another link), hen he should start from the very beginning.
