Trial Membership Plan ​

Free Trial Memberships are available for IxDF community Members to try out the platform for 7 days without any payment. This feature is currently behind a feature flag and can be enabled by setting the MEMBERSHIP_TRIAL_ENABLED env variable to 'true'.

To access the Free Trial, members need to complete a three-step process:

  • Review the details of the Free Trial offer
  • Provide basic personal information (name and email)
  • Set up a payment method for future use

Lifecycle ​

Trial Members start from Trial and then have the same lifecycle as other MembershipPlans.

Educational Partner's ability to offer Free Trials ​

Access to the Free Trial is currently limited to members who are invited by selected Educational Partners, who have been granted the ability to offer Free Trials. This mechanism helps us track and limit access to the Free Trial feature.

Members who attempt to access the /free-trial URL without a valid Educational Partner slug appended to the URL or stored in cookies will be redirected to our standard individual Membership checkout flow.

Trial Membership Plan change to a full Membership ​

There are two ways for Trial Membership to be converted to a full Professional Membership:

  1. Manually on the Billing tab on the Member's profile
  2. Automatically after the Trial Membership expires

If a Member changes their Membership Plan manually before the end of the Trial period, they will not be charged for any remaining days of their Free Trial. Before a Trial Membership is converted into a full Professional Membership off session, the Trial Members will be notified by email.

Canceling a Free Trial ​

Members can cancel their Trial Membership at any time during the 7-day trial period by using the Billing tab on their profile.

Educational Partner's commissions ​

When a Trial Membership is converted to a full Professional Membership, the Educational Partner who invited the Trial Member will receive a commission, as defined on their referral program profile.

Free Trial limitations ​

During the Free Trial period, members have full access to our platform with no limitations on how many courses they can enroll in.
