How to block an IP address

Are you looking to block incoming requests from a specific individual who might be an attacker or a malicious user on our production website? Do you know their IP address? Great! The process is simple and can be done effortlessly.

Follow these steps:

  1. Visit forge.laravel.com and select the production-web server. Forge Servers

  2. On the left sidebar, click on Network, and then navigate to New Firewall Rule. New Firewall Rule

  3. Provide a suitable name for this rule, ensuring it is under 50 characters. Follow the format: YYYY-MM-DD request-method very-short-title for the name.

  4. Enter the port number. In most cases, if you want to block all incoming requests from a specific IP, you can enter 1:65535. Alternatively, you can leave it blank, and Forge will handle the rest.

  5. Input the IP address you want to block.

  6. Select the appropriate rule type, which in this case is Deny.

  7. Finally, click on Create.

Active Firewall Rules

That's it! You have successfully blocked the specified IP address.

If there are any old rules that appear harmless, you can remove them to keep firewall rules concise.
